I'm thinking of running a dungeon fantasy game and came up this creature for it. I'd like some feedback and comments on it though... Can you think of any other diabolical effects these creatures might carry?
I was thinking of adding a vulnerability to water. Waxtorch Golems Waxtorch golems are the creation of an insane, pyromaniac wizard bent on destruction on a large scale. In their unlit, stable form they a vaguely humanoid, man-sized creatures seemingly manufactured of bright-red jelly that smells strongly of varnish and other flammable materials. However, once they are exposed to an open flame, these monstrosities turn into torchlike humanoid timebombs capable of turning a peaceful town into a bonfire of destruction. When a Waxtorch golem attacks, it's touch leavs behind a thick smear of its highly flammable jelly, a potentially life-theatening hazard when the creature's creator is nearby... If the creature is already ablaze, its attacks are flammable and cause extra fire damage. Given time, the jelly can be washed of with simple water. Deep inside each waxtorch golem's chest is buried an additional ingredient for catastrophe...a keg of dwarven blasting powder, once the flames reach that...the golem explodes in a shover of burning wax and jelly. ST: 13 DX: 13 IQ: 9 HT: 11 HP: 20 Will: 9 Per: 9 FP: N/a Dodge: 8 Speed: 7 Move: 7 SM: 0 DR: 4 Weapons: Fist (12) 1d (+ 1d-1flaming if lit) or (+Affliction: Fragile (Combustible)) Kaboom: When a burning Waxtorch golem reaches -HP it explodes in a shower of burning jelly...
