I guess it could work and it could make the game more interesting but it is Dungeon Fantasy specific. Outside of it it would need to be hanled differently.

It also alow an interesting plot twist. That is that wizard, and cleric are both more potion based. So if the party get robed or locked up it will not be that much imbalancing. (Warriors without there weapons, mages with all there spells and extra FPs.)
