This foot-mounted mace card caused a few disagreements in my recent Munchkin game but we muddled through anyway.
The first argument: One player tried to claim that the foot-mounted mace should be considered footgeat (he wanted to use a "lose your footgear" curse on me). This one was easier to settle because it does not say footgear on card. My other silly point was that it wasn't on my foot anyway but attached to my leg heh. SOLVED. Second argument: This same player, now with support from all other players because I was level nine, in combat, about to win the game, suggested that foot-mounted mace is a weapon. I was facing the Moon Maidens, against which I cannot use weapons (Level, armor, etc. still count). The bonus was the difference between me winning the game or having to run away. As the FAQ states, common sense should be used. Mine told me that it is NOT a weapon, that weapons are swords, axes, chainsaws, held blunt objects like bowling pins, bows, etc. They argued that since it's being called a mace (which is supposed to be just a pun) and that it gives me nasty kick damage, that it's a weapon. As owner of the game, I could have ruled in my own favor and won the game (which I think is the correct ruling), but since I didn't want to win because of being a rules Nazi, I told them I'll go with their call THIS TIME. I ran from the moon maidens. What do the rest of you think of this second situation? P.S. I won this game before my next turn even started thanks to a Divine Intervention! I did a crazy celebratory dance and boasted that God agreed with MY RULING and decided to smite the rest of them for their blasphemy! |
