One thing you may find helpful to keep in mind; look for the effect you want, rather than concentrating on the name of the particular ad/disad/whatever.

GURPS is much more about effects than about the connotations we associate with the name of a particular ability. Perhaps the most egregious offender in the mismatched name category is Sumo Wrestling, which has a whole bunch of incredibly useful effects, which just happen to be well-matched to the sport of sumo, but would be useful to almost anyone who makes a point of moving other people around, regardless of their culture.

This is the part I don't get. What, exactly does this mean? If the orbital AI uses its ability to transmit a massed battle plan, I don't think there's much of an advantage here beyond just the telecommunication. It's simply an interesting mechanism by which the commander communicates plans to its troops. If it allows some sort of specific turn-by-turn benefit to someone in combat (say, allowing the AI to perform Evaluate maneuvers while the battlebots are in combat and somehow bestow the benefit of that back to the battlebots), that might be something else. However, as I say, I don't understand just what the benefits of "preparation" are supposed to be.

I hope I have not violated my posting by double-posting. If I have, please refer me to any rules that may be set by SJ Games forum moderators! And please do not be brutal to me, moderators... Just let this tiny bit slide....

I have been writing up bot statistics, and came across something that daunted me at the moment. I've already added much of the adv, some disadv, and skills with the proper weapons and equipment. There's one thing left.

A force shield may offer a first-wave light infantry battlebot (Legionnaire Type-B M1022 as sheet says) 100DR. The question I've had to come across for this battlebot is... what type of armor should it be wearing as an automaton?

It certainly cannot be putting on reflex jackets, boots, etc. While humanoid in design, the battlebot carries a blood-red cloak behind its back with a large, elongated round shield on its right arm. A vibro-gladii (a force-sword with crystallized elements that vibrates and cut easily into human/alien flesh except where carapaces apply) on its left hand.

The automaton needs to be low beam-resistant since it has seen numerous wars against alien races with beam weapons. This time, as the battlebots advances on the world of TL9/10 humans, they are not entirely resistant to explosive shells, although bullet projectiles may ricochet. Any thoughts or ideas, inputs you'd share with me? Just how exactly can I make its body metallic and in a specific type of armor or do I need to wait for GURPS 4e Robots?
