I know its goddamn late but I swear to God I’m starting to feel like I can at last do my Gantz suit with this Meta-Tech book.
Spent weeks trying to do it, days in the discord asking questions and being suggested a lot of things that weren’t quite what I wanted and almost gave up on GURPS entirely before setting with a specific Nanoware from UT that while not similar to the original suit I wanted was the best I could find. I am not completely sure, but if it does enables me to have the GANTZ stuff added, suits and weapons, I might need to run a second season of my Death Palace campaign with some new folks. Now is time to see. |

It's finally almost here? LET'S FRIGGIN' GOOOOOO!
Unless you need hard core realism, I assure you that 99.99% of ever gadget, weapon, vehicle, powered suit, super base, ring of power, robot minion, what have you can be handled. Hell, it can also handle realistic tech too with the right options. Even if you don't use it directly, it's still a good jump off point for ideas or as a way to "prototype" ideas you have before you go into them with more detail (kinda like how I use Spaceships). During the play test I had a blast coming up with ideas like an zero point detonator axe, a near perfect expy of the Armored Fighting Suit Mk II from Maschinen Krieger, and a clock work lumbjack tin man who became convinced that human blood made the best oil.... Yeah, you can come up with some crazy stuff. So, basically, what I'm saying is like GURPS Powers, Meta-Tech is going to be one of those books everyone is going to want to have on the shelf (or hard drive).

Finally. With Meta-Tech, we can finally give Dungeon Fantasy Artificers the means to create wild, fantastical Clockpunk/Steampunk/Magitech inventions!

Building gadgets as gear helps when building a setting with divergent tech levels and superscience or other esoteric rules.
And the new modifiers are going to be useful to a lot of people even if they don't build things as gear. Some of those modifiers have been floating around a long time as blogs or Pyramid articles, a few were loaned from GURPS Template Toolkit 4: Spirits (I wanted transporters and Star Gate like stuff in Meta-Tech). However, there are plenty of absolutely brand new stuff, especially if you have not been in one of his campaigns where he play tested some of them.

Part of the reason my mainline campaign is on hold might be waiting for the final version of this so I can build all the alternate tech of the underground races living amongst the rotting corpses of the gods.
Might also be I burnt out, but I'm highly anticipating this. |
