Immunity to Cancer(5) is already priced as a "Rare" threat and the scale does not technically go lower than that. I believe there is "Immunity to a specific disease" in Bio-tech for 1 pt.

HIV is a specific disease though technical matters like sub-strains could complicate things. Diabetes isn't technically a "disease" even in Gurps terms. In those terms it might be a "Sickness" even though it (probably) doesn't have an environmental cause. If a GM wanted to lower the price on Immunity to Diabetes from (5)pts he'd be within his rights.

In technical terms a bio-tech agent that provided Immunity to Diabetes (type II) would probably be some kind of gene therapy that reversed insulin resistance. (I seem to be using the word "technical" a lot).

For Type I you'd want to treat very young and prevent an autoimmune malfunction from killing the cells in the Islets of Langerhans in the pancreas in the first place. Later than that you have to replace those cells and prevent the immune system from killing them again.

To make money on Homeline from an out-time piece of bio-tech you're going to need to funnel it to the market through the existing process for bringing in out-time inventions. There's very probably a significant reward from doing that but it might not be the king's ransom you're thinking of. If you can get even a small royalty on each dose it should add up eventually.

Homeline isn't actually a great place to get fantastically rich from out-time imports. If it's really useful somebody else has probably done it before you.

Not the proper U.N./Infinity way, no, but my side isn’t doing it that way and I’m doing a hard hard Infinite Darkness (IW pg. 36) anyway.

Immunity to Type I Diabetes is probably a taboo trait (0 points), in that if you're from that time and place you simply don't have it because it's been removed from the population or universal treatment in infancy makes you 'immune'. If so it's not worth points, any more than being given MMR shots, TB vaccine, and so on is.

“With all that money flowing through the ultimate ‘offshore’ account, someone’s going to get greedy – and start killing to cover up his secret.”
