Default Top 12 Clues You're a Role-Playing Old-Timer

What are the Top 12 Clues You're a Role-Playing Old-Timer? Now you can find out!

I wrote this (hopefully) humorous article that not only mentions GURPS, it includes the cover of GURPS Fantasy Folk: Elves and mentions Steve Jackson Games.

I'd love comments there!

Pendragon
Prince Valiant RPG
Powers & Perils

What kind of Role-Playing Old Timer doesn't own, much less know, another RPG starting with "P". Hrumph.

Nice article.

Most, if not all, of those apply to me.

Thanks. I think.

Finally, an article of that type that doesn't make me feel old! Thank you!

Sure, several items are closer than I'd like, but not quite there yet.

I've actually gamed in a nursing home, which was weird.

Thanks! I restricted the list to Origins Award winners (although in several games on the list there's more than one version.) I admit I purposely looked for a game that was the only Origins winners for Best RPG that started with whatever letter so I could throw in a cornball joke.

You're welcome! And don't ask me how many of those apply to me (although I am the one who made the list.)

I got to admit I never did that!

As far as I know, it was never a real game. But it was a fictional game and the name of a novel and movie.

I guess I'm the new guy: I only answered Yes to one of the twelve.

And Sean Punch said six of them definitely fit him!

Really I think some of it comes down to how literally someone takes the points. There's some points there that don't technically fit me--but would with just a slight rewording....

12. Not literally. It was 2 dozen people (not all guys) in the basement of the student Union.

9. Again not literally. Maybe 2 or 3 editions ago. Not many systems literally have 6 or more editions.

7. Definite no. Particularly for D&D 5e. Previous editions had significantly better indexes.

Everything else is not even that close.
