What is next for the party?

Bain suggests to spend between 3 and 5 days in town to fetch some news. By then the Sergeant might have extracted useful information from the bandit, which might lead us to another quest regarding our current hook.

Then, Bain will meet with the party for dinner at Broken Hilt Tavern.

Gathika told comrade Telrith he can roll HT+1 to restore the remaining or missing HP. I guess he can roll 2 times because she healed him on day 5.

Gathika can lend the money to Vic. In the other hand Telrith and Vic were in debt with her already. But she said she will cover her sponsorship with loot; it means you do not have to pay.

Gathika goes find a sage to check her items.

On the fourth day she will have the chance to sells the animal heads for 20 coin. She asks Bain if he agrees.

Vic seeks a mage to talk about his (secret) curse, he wants to know how to fix it. he tells the mage/wizard that the witch that cursed him had her origin in a cult near Starhold Keep.

Gathika sold Bain’s items except the monster heads. Bain did not "return" the bandit, so Gathika won't “return” the box. She makes it haggling for 60% its value.

She takes the $ 2,000 loan, and another $ 80 for checking the item and a $20 charge because Gathika likes round numbers (kidding!).

First: In order to improve his reaction, I suggest we give the head of the Lion as a gift to the Sergeant, as a sign of good faith. The other head might be a gift for the Tavern. They are worth $10 each.

Bain in town:

Bain spent two points in gambling for (SL 10), and went 2 weeks gambling to earn some extra cash for his gear. It did not go too well, for he lost $ 2,400. At least he got the last laugh, for he won the “final game”.

With a $ 2,000 loan from Gathika (with the box as the warrant), Bain had $ 2,871.50. However, since she sold the box, after a luck re-roll… Bain has $ 4,391.50.

He makes the following expenses:

Upgrading his bow and completing his set of light leather armor. He will make the armor fitted (+9CF) and ornamented (+4CF for better reaction in town) and then enchant his set of armor for DR+1 with $1,000. He will also make his cloak fitted (+9CF). Finally, he will also buy (camouflage) face paint $10.

Bain camps one week with Vic, but it did not go too well so he loses 3 HP.
The next week Bain rests in the inn to recover, and seeks Gathika to heal him.

In total he spends $ 4,239.

Bain also tried to fetch “a contract” from the Sergeant and get more information (this information is already written in the IC, because I talked this via PM, thanks Ajardoor). For this matter I made 2 successful soldier rolls (12), for each week:

One for the first day, with a success of 8 (which I re-rolled with luck).
And the other with a success of 10.
I also rolled 2 SCR for Bain’s obsession, one per week; he resisted.

The military men interrogate the bandit, and learn that the highwaymen are being pressured by demon-worshipping cultists to do dirty work for them. Usually, this means giving them anyone they kidnap while robbing caravans. In return, the cultist cleared out a clan of orcs from a cave complex and let the bandits have a home there. The other caves hold monsters that usually war against the cult, or each other.

The cultists are hiding out in the highest cave in the canyon. The cultists have been researching something "Gates". (OOC: Bain, this info sounds tantalisingly like the subject of your Obsession.)

The man died accidentally before he could reveal more.
