Unequipped item slots

Hi there, I have some doubts about what kind of cards can be put in game, by let them unequipped on the table. I mean, if a need to keep my hand with 5 or less cards, I can put any card down on the table to avoid give it to another player, even curses and one shot cards? Or I can just put down cards with gold value write in them?
