Honestly, I'd still prefer the original scale counters (and was very disappointed when the new scale was adopted since it threw all my "classic" counters right out), but that ship has sailed...

I get where you are coming from, but my vote is, 'Big juicy counters for the win!'

The players in my group have that ability.

That's not an ability...it's more like a "superpower!" ;-)

Thank you. After playing several games with the new scale, I'm happy that we made the decision. The larger space makes using minis a lot more fun, and we find that players really get into the game when they're moving a mini around a cool map.

Minis are excellent, but standups (like Cardboard Heroes) are also good, and even the flat counters are better than the old ones because they're bigger — which means a better opportunity to appreciate the art, especially for players with less than perfect vision.

I like the new scale.

I'm concerned to run out, and I really feel the need for cardstock thickness paper. I've been doing a lot of gaming convention demos/events since we got the PDF's, running a 4-6 hour In The Labyrinth full RPG adventure. I have several methods that I'm trying to narrow down to the best.
  1. Print disposable short cards from the PDF onto the backside of index cards. You have to shrink the original character card height by 0.5 inches to make it fit.
  2. Use card sleeves with the standard 3.5 x 5 pad tear-off sheets. this makes them dry/wet erase
  3. use index card sleeves on the PDF printed short cards, also with dry/wet erase markers

I also have a excel spreadsheet which I can input simple heroes or monsters into to print mock-cards. These are the same size and format as the smaller half-sheet pads, but without artwork. I generally end up using the artwork window for more text (money, items, hero type, race, gender, etc.) because I'm simply not an artist.
