Default Cleric resurection and annihilation

I tried to look this up and couldn't find an answer.

I was playing with/against a cleric who had the annihilation card. At the beginning of his turn he played the card and annihilated one of my items. Then he resurrected the annihilation card as his kick down the door. And proceeded each turn to annihilate all of my items, super munchkin, halfbreed, etc. As far as I can see, this is allowed. However other loop type loopholes, cleric/wand of dousing/hoard seem to have been dealt with. Is there a way to stop this?

If nothing else, can I at least interject a discard between his annihilation and resurection to break it up?
