Broken weapons in Wizard

I'm a little confused about DROPPED OR BROKEN WEAPONS; BARE HANDS ATTACKS - Wizard p19

A wizard can not strike anybody with her hands because she's not a Myrmidon, correct? If her staff is broken then she must cast at least one spell in order to inflict a single point of damage on anybody.

A Myrmidon with a broken sword is not an illusion because an illusion can't divide, correct?

On a related point, can images attempt to miss when pretending to make attacks?
