Now that counter, to me, is one very cool piece of art.
What I like most about it is that it suggests *this* character is not the typical low-DX, low-IQ classic "hill" giant; but rather comes from some other culture completely - which a GM could flesh-out as an entirely new race of giants. I guess the overly-obvious thing would be to attribute the top-knot to some sort of Asiatic, or Somoan culture. Also, there is nothing about the confident stance which this figure exhibits that suggests a low-DX figure, to my eye anyway... I get quite the opposite impression; as this counter suggests a completely different type of giant-sized trouble for the PCs to tangle with. Anyone else get that same impression from this great counter? JK |

Ooh! That makes me want a TFT Yokai splat book!
I wonder if the guys who did Bushido would be interested... |

Too funny! (Though I have to agree, that's what it really looks like to me...). Still, Liz did a great job on the counter art!

Now that you point it out, I see what you mean. Having lost my 14 year-old power of vision for seeing the fine details on little counters 40 years ago, this does not surprise me.
