We've played this before and gotten some good settings. I'd like to try the game again. Our goal is to make an interesting setting.
We get the best results when there is a theme to the setting. The theme (and goal) for this version is a post agricultural fantasy setting, where magic is used to solve all the world's problems. The magic system is intentionally left unspecified, but this is gurps: we can match any setting to the right magic system. This isn't about predicting what will happen if everyone has magic as it is about creating a setting where everyone does, and that hangs together. Rules:
The first question: How does the society feed itself? Mages conjuring food? Modern level crop yields from agricultural magic or magical wonder crops? Magic items that conjure food? spells and artifacts that make eating unnecessary?

Food mysteriously appears on any properly prepared table three times per day. The meal is always nutritious, and has some variety in the menus, but is otherwise scaled to the social class of the table settings. Nobody really knows why.
Second question: How long has this been happening? How did it start? |

A2) It started a five hundred years ago during a great blight that wiped out all the grains. All the mages of the land failed reverse the blight. The new food supply arose when The Golden Emperor traded his empire and his soul to fairies in order to end the famine.
Q3) How are agricultural needs (i.e. cotton, flax, tobaco, etc.) aside from food supplied? |

Permanent gate effects link areas with large amounts of traffic, and Loads and cargos and passengers pass through the gates. This only works for large distances and permanent destinations though. A later question can decide what the things going through the gates look like.
Why was a single soul enough to bring this never-ending stream of food?
