Let's say that I have in play (and equipped) an item that is cursed (by the Curse!Cursed Thingy).During my round I meet a monster I can't win so I ask for help . While the battle is on, the helper plays a Wishing Ring and removes the Curse from my item so that now I can benefit from it. Is that legal?Does it contradict the rule about equipping items during battle or is it ok because the item was already equipped?

It would be legal since the Item was already being used. Neither the Curse, nor canceling it, would count for changing the Item's state.

It depends on the method used. If it doesn't say whose Curses may be canceled, then you may use it to cancel a Curse on another player. A Wishing Ring, for example, may be used for anyone's benefit, not just the owner.

Something relevant I just thought...Can I change my setup right before I roll the die to run away?Is the battle considered over by then?

No, you can't change your layout while you are dealing with Monsters. The rules do say you can't do that during combat, nor during running away, and there's no "in-between" time where you can. This might have also been asked in the FAQ.
