Default carried items

I have a basic question. If i understood well i have in play as many items as i want. The limitation is that i can have only 1 big item, unless i am a dwarf. The potions, and other one-shot items could be leggaly in the table, in case i have more than 5 cards(6 if I am a dwarf) in the charity phase. I can also have one item, for example usable by warriors only, even if I am not a warrior, but i cannot use it. I hope i am right until here.
My question is: In case I have items that require 5 hands(1 item requiring 2 hands+3 items requiring i hand), can I have all these items in play? I mean, Can I have all these cards in play, and decide when i am fighting which of them I want to use? I read something about card sideways. Is it true? Is there a limit in sideways items?

Hey tolis18nt

I have been wondering the exact same thing about the limit placed on "carried/sideways" cards (hence how I came across your question); here's a reply by one of the moderators to a similar question:

In Munchkin, you can have any number of small (those not marked Big) Items in play, and one Big Item in play. All of those Items you have in play are carried. Of those carried Items, you can normally use (equip) one Headgear Item, one Armor Item, one Footgear Item, and two Hand Items or one 2 Hands Item, and any number of unclassified Items (e.g., Kneepads Of Allure). One-shot Items (those that Item cards that say "usable once only") are Items, therefore they can go into play.

Hope that helps
