I'm running in a fantasy campaign that also allows TL/4 black powder firearms. Is there a way in standard 4e Magic to use a spell instead of a pistol to do a large piercing attack (pi+)? Winged Knife throwing musket balls at black-powder muzzle velocities? Stone Missle with more power to create lead missles rather than stone ones? Or do I have to create a specialized spell that I have to roll-play the research on (which the adventure doesn't really allow for)?

There's no RAW spell to do so. However, it shouldn't be too hard to come up with a variant of Ice Dagger, trading the Impaling for Pi+, and boosting the damage from 1d-1/energy to 1d/energy.

I'd make it a variant of Stone Missile, probably with Stone Missile as the direct prerequisite. Create and launch something more like a sling-stone than the usual ball of rock.

What exactly are you trying to achieve? Staging an assassination and pinning it on someone armed with a gun?
