Okay, let's say that wizards, both with Ritual Path Magic, are competitive against each other in a kind of magical sport or game which revolves around casting spells.
Assume that Adepts and non-Adepts compete separately, ala Boxing weights. So, this RPM wizard duel...My thoughts on how this sport should work; Each bout consists of both contenders casting a ritual from scratch - "junior"/lightweight/non-lethal/lesser matches/tourneys require the ritual to be casted on inanimate objects or otherwise harmless magical feats ("burn this wooden plank", turn water to wine, light up the night sky with fireworks, send your opponent to sleep) while the lethal/"serious"/honour duel/heavyweight duels require the caster to use damaging rituals (perhaps only a Simple Striking Hex for mere rough-housing duels) on his opponent. The contender who accomplishes this feat, wins the bout. The contender who wins the appropriate number of bouts (first to three, or best of five) wins the match. Duels to the death or first blood forgo bouts in favour of...well... What do you think? Any better ideas for RPM sport or game?
