Marceline's Musical Instrument Bonus- Adventure Time

Marceline's card says that you get an extra bonus for musical Items that are equipped. Is this bonus per musical instrument or just a one-off? For example if I use "Cheat" to equip the Viola AND the Axe-bass do I get +4 bonus or +2 bonus. I thought the wording was fairly clear that each musical instrument you have equipped gets an extra +2 bonus but my friends wouldn't let me have it because they thought it was just the one +2 bonus that doesn't stack.
