Hi there,
We've got 1 Goblin Hood on the table & a wandering monster has joined us being the Mob Goblin, now the Gobblin' card has been played +10 to Goblin! Does the Gobblin' card stack against all Goblin's on the table or only against the Wandering Monster Goblin? We tried searching but the term Gobblin' brings up a tonne of irrelevant hits. Thanks :) |

Gobblin' is just like any other Monster Enhancer, so it only affects one Monster. It just so happens that if that one Monster is a Goblin, then it's a bigger bonus. Also, neither Goblin monster you referred to has any special ability to distribute its bonuses to other Goblins, so there's no stacking. For future reference, words to look for that might indicate that a card would give more than one Monster a bonus: "for each," "for every," "per." However, I'm not recalling any Monster Enhancer that does that, and having a hard time finding one in the database.

BTW. It is not necessary to play a wandering monster card to add another goblin if one is already in the battle. The is a special goblin power. Other monsters also have a similar power, such a Santa Clause monsters can be added to a combat that has a Santa Clause monster in it already without the use of a wandering monster card.

A better example would be Undead Monsters, which already exist in Pathfinder without having to mention a kind of Monster that doesn't. But, yes, you don't need a Wandering Monster card to add a Goblin if there is already a Goblin in the combat.
I'm not entirely sure that a Wandering Monster card was used, but yes, the choice of calling it a "wandering monster" does imply it. |
