Dungeon of Ubiquitous Undead and Wizard charm

While playing Demented dungeons for the first time I was a wizard and charmed a monster. The Dungeon of Ubiquitous Undead was the only active dungeon at the time. I claimed that since the other players did not discard a card to turn the monster into an undead before the charm, they could not do it after I charmed it. But they could wander in another monster. Was I wrong?

Once you charm the monster, it's too late for people to modify it.
