Default Journalist's Code of Honor

-10 points

Honest, unbiased public enlightenment is a cornerstone for liberty and justice. Documenting events is worth the risk to safety and security as long as the truth gets told. Credit all sources as much as possible and claim no credit for work that is not your own. Hold politicians, police, clergy, celebrities, and other high status individuals to the higher standards that they supposedly set for themselves.

Did I miss anything?

"If the facts conflict with the legend, print the legend."

This version's been around for a lot longer than Murdoch has.

Luce, Moorehead, and Pyle were clearly biased against Nazis. They also didn't consider the truth worth the risk to security because of aforesaid bias against Nazis.

I should have said "personal security". Moorehead covered a great many battles, and we know what happened to Pyle.

'A retraction in fine print on page 139 makes up for a triple-sized front page headline that was wrong or disingenuous.'

'A heart-warming or heart-rending picture is worth 100 stories that actually explain the context, so why waste time on the context?'
