"By discarding three cards, you can remove a monster from combat on your turn, leaving its Treasure behind. Charmed monsters do not grant levels! After charming a monster, roll a die. On a 1, discard the Charm Bracelet"
My first impressions of the Charm Bracelet was that it was a good 'plan B' if you fail a fight. It was versatile, but costed 3 cards. A charmed monster's bonus and enhancers are removed from the fight(treasures in mind the case that other monsters are defeated), and you resume to fight the other monsters, the bad stuff of the charmed monster not being applied should you have to run away. Playing tonight, a new player had it and got to level nine. Fighting a level 2 monster, we wandered in monster after monster. He claimed however, that it did not specify once per combat, and charmed roughly 4 monsters. He discarded and rolled when appropriate. He thought munchkinly, and he was new, so I allowed the play and said I would check the ruling later at the dismay of the rest of the table. It seemed legal, though arguably unbalanced in playing. So, can the Charm Bracelet's effect be used multiple times to charm multiple monsters, as long as you can fuel it and discard 3 cards? Or is it truly one time per use. I apologize if this was already answered; I could not find the ruling myself. |
