Default GURPS Swarms

Hello!

I was thinking of using swarm enemies in my upcoming TL10 campaign, either computer controlled poisonous insects/spiders or microbots. In principle, they should be a very serious threat to unprepared heros, however, I have the feeling that with RAW, they are much too vulnerable to conventional weaponry. Since they have only 10 HP (for microbots) or 12 HP (for a insect swarm) and get 1 HP injury per shot, they can be dispersed by a single automatic salve (no attack roll needed), a semi-automatic shotgun or just by normal semi-automatic fire in a few seconds. But as the swarms consist of "hundreds or thousands of micro-bots" (UT 35), 10 shots shouldn't do much (any?) damage.

I was wondering if anybody made up a set of house-rules? Has anybody been using swarms in his games? Is there something like Injury tolerance (only affected by area effect weapons)?
