Charike' (pronounced Cha-ree-Kae)

Race: Kitsune
Appearance: Late adolescent Red Fox, Green eyes, Body length 28 in, with two 8 in. tails.
Human form: Young adult, narrow features with very subtly pointed ears 5'9", 190lbs., red-brown hair and green eyes.

Charike' lived in the northern mountains with his clan. They would spend their time in peace, enjoying nature's bounty, and entertaining themselves playing pranks on each other and unwary travelers, especially those who did not show the proper respect to the woodlands. On occasion, they would travel to the nearby human settlements. Some would remain unseen and play pranks, others would take their shape and walk among them. Charike' was fond of both games, and had a special talent for figuring out how things worked in the human world.

Charike' was on such an expedition when the Banestorm came. He was off on his own from his brothers and they were spared his fate. He and some of the human villagers found themselves on Yrth. Charike' has traveled the islands for several years since the storm brought him, he has been searching for others of his kind. Despite the many disappointments in his search, he has been encouraged by several old tales, and the knowledge that some of his forefathers with many tails have been known to walk worlds.

Unfortunately the Guild of Dreamers have also found lore that describes this ability of the Kitsune, and so have been trying to capture Charike' since learning of his existence. He has been staying one step ahead of them, and searching the lands for a way home.

He's not the prot-

Eeeehhhh.... Maybe.

He's just the maguffin. He's got the "ultimate" form of dreamscaping: The ability to completly project yourself through dimension, not just as an astral projection. Since his powers were Imbued into him with the Banestorm gem (Backstory above), his powers can be removed into something else. The Planewalker clan wants it to mass produce it , The Normil clan wants to keep it for themselves, And archibald & followers want to keep it to themselves, but allow guild members to use it. Someone else can also take his powers off him, but that's a secret for now.

I should explain better:
Dreamscaping is the astral projection of one's soul into their alternate self. For example, on earth, Larry the janitor is possessed by Larry the knight. He still retains himself, but the Yrth version of him lives vicariously throught Larry the janitor. it's really a mix between Possesion, Jumper(world) or a gate version of soul rider. Banestormed humans on Yrth don't have an alternate self, so the laws of the universe sets them up with a "clone" of themselves, these versions are souless, and become active when dreamscaping, making it only possible for HUMANS to completly get control on Yrth. Other races can do it, but they have the same problem as Larry the Knight.

Regarding Faeo, that's the fourth NPC. haven't edited the post yet.

Also, if it's that troubling, i'll put the Disad limit back to -50. kinda breaks the Planeswalker Curse, but I can put that under as a racial template... maybe.

More or less. They can influence their alternate selves, and move the body if it's weakened (Sleep, Injury, etc.), but not much else than that.

If you're building a character who uses dreamscaping, you don't need earth/high tech imposed traits. Your not actually getting high TL gear, it's not available to anyone except banestormed humans, and they'll be limited to the things they brought on their boats (banestorm can only get you if you're in a body of water, right?). The campaign has a TL of 4+2, so you "start" at 4+2. Low TL is only available if your character is visiting the isles.

Planewalker Curse: Once trying to find the Banestorm gem, Irving Planewalker consulted the Witches of Chalistrad. Tricking him, they cursed his descendants so they would all have a fractured soul, making it impossible for them to dreamscape. A side effect was that the souls would fight over the body, controlling it at different times.

Alternate Personality [-15, -20 on mental traits.], Social Stigma (Can't Dreamscape) [-10], Enemy (Witches of Chalistrad, Rival, CR 9) [-10], -55 Points.

I find that 150 points is an astounding amount (i'm used to 75-100). I'd increase it, but it would make me have to rewrite some of the enemies again.

Quick ruling:

Unusual background: Banestorm'd [5]
Your natural dimension is different from this one. Landing in this strange world, you grip at the remains that were yourself

Covers: High TL equipment, Racial templates, Magery higher than 3, etc. Anything else of that type. Starts your character off with confused (cr 15) or social stigma (Banestormed) [-5]

Unusual Background: Banestorm'd race [0, 1 if your race starts off with higher TL gear or insane amounts of magic.]
Your species has been developing on Yrth for several generations, aquiring the culture and not being perceived as something else.

Covers: Racial Templates.

So. I've been having some trouble with the plot of the campaign. I may need to postpone it for a few weeks to sort out the stuff.

Anyway:
Maps & Areas, 70% done. I need to do a cave system, a "road" area, and a tavern & alley.
Plot: 60%, Backstory's finished. Main plot is finished. Still need to write out the "before" story up to the part where the NPC's are introduced (Like in Dead airway, where I kinda moved the plot forward by 1 1/2 hours...), and the Scenes (Those little excerpts I made by adding a _____ before them, to signifiy a story piece)
NPC's and main characters: 30% complete. Adam's incredibly hard to pin down, either he's gonna be the genericide hero, or a reflection of my own personality (which is easier to do, but i don't want to RP myself in a different tone, it's weird.)2-3 Of the major NPC's have benn concepted and have some backstory written for them. Still gotta make generic templates.

In the meantime, I think I may be subconsiously stuck on Dead airway still... I keep jumping to it instead of plotting out FoD.

Soo... I might be ready. Still have to build some small stuff, and someone was interested in playing, so i'll give him some time to write up a character.

THE BIG PROBLEM: Your character isn't introduced for some time in the story. There's a couple of ways I can go from that:

1) We follow Charike up to a certain point, then switch to a full on "group".
2) You take over a second NPC for the start of the story, then you switch to Charike (i'll kill off or phase out you "npc")
3) I say f&!@ it... I don't know, i'm kinda lost at this point. The plot's fully developed, and I don't know how to proceed.

Seriously... I'm breaking down at this point. I could use some guidance, but I-i'm ranting at this pont. ARGH! what do I do?

What I have so far:
Concept art and maps.
Piece of a the campaign "book" i wrote up.
The original stuff we had in the thread I had written down...

EDIT: Bit of a warning, i'm kinda high on ibiprophrine due to my wisdom teeth being removed. kinda why i'm freaking out right now. can't think straight... blugh.

Why not just present the story up to my character's introduction as read? Seems silly to start the game a good bit of time before introducing your first PC...

But we could do solo story at first, sure...

Ok. so, you're gonna have to change Charike's background slightly, from looking for adam to looking for a way home. that way, I can set it up for a fully "open" start.
