Munchkinomicon vs Annihilation

question, would annihilation destroy the munchkinomicon and remove it completely from the game? Or would the Munkinomicon return to the top of the treasure deck as it would if it was sold or discarded? The cards do seem to be contradiction of each others rules. My gaming group seems to constantly be arguing over this and I am wanting to just say the book goes back to the treasure pile...thoughts?
