Does the original Hireling work with the Munchkin 4 Hireling rules?

There is a card titled 'hireling' which can be drawn from the treasure deck. Is that card still considered a hireling for rule purposes too?

I'm assuming you mean if you would follow the rules from Munchkin 4 (or one of the other sets that use the "Hireling" rules). If so, then yes, when you are playing with Munchkin 4, etc.) Though, the card Hireling already states that on the card, it can be discarded to let you escape.
