So if Able has a mace and swings at Baker, and then Baker attacks back, Able can't parry with his mace because he used it to attack this turn. On his next turn, he can attack. If he does not, he can parry when Baker's next turn comes.

Forget the idea that there is a "round" of action that determines when something was used or not. Each person has their own individual turn; you can't both attack and defend with an Unbalanced weapon during the same turn.
Thanks! That clears things up nicely for me. BTW, huge fan of Martial Arts, although somewhat sad that its out of print, I had to pick up a copy for one of my players via Ebay (which means SJG doesn't get any money for it-it's a used copy). Hopefully it will see a reprint soon.

As I absorb MA I may have a couple of additional questions for you ;-)

You and me both. I can't even find a copy for one of my players.

My only advice is, buy the PDF and get Lulu or a print shop to print it for you.

Fire away! Between Sean Punch and I, nevermind Doug "I expanded Martial Arts a Lot" Cole, we should be able to field most questions. :)
