I'm starting this thread to weigh the rule on p.84 of Supers, and possible alternatives to it.
P84 of Supers suggests that if a PC wants a vehicle that's better than what exists on the cash market, and their GM is comfortable abstracting much of the allegedly complex vehicle creation process, then the PC should pay character points to get the vehicle as an Ally. However, I've read some resistance to the notion of IQ 0 character sheets on these forums, and I cannot find anywhere the rules for generating vehicles. So, I have a few questions: When if ever have you used IQ 0 characters? (as a vehicle or base, Ally or Patron I guess. I'm going out on a limb, I can't think of any way an IQ 0 contact or dependent would make sense). If you wouldn't allow it, why wouldn't you allow it? And lastly but perhaps most importantly, if your GM decided not to let you use the Supers method, how would you go about supping up your airship/batmobile/Millennium Falcon? With cash? How do you price additional capacities? Let's assume your GM is okay with there being an advanced or custom vehicle in setting, he/she just doesn't like the idea of non-sentient allies. Cheers, and thanks as always for your time! Last edited by Engurrand; 09-12-2013 at 11:54 PM. Reason: clarity and such |
