Hey, I want to hear some suggestions from you guys.
So, I've designing this modern fantasy setting, and one of the factions is a coalition of Western European witches - kinda the real EU, but an occult conspiracy. Their magic is based around the Ritual Magic mechanics (and like all others, it's Threshold-Limited). So far, I've got semi-basic concepts for five magical styles learnt by these witches. One was created by British thaumatologicalists, another by Spanish witches, another by Germans, another by French witches and another by Italian witches. My question is, what kind of styles do you think should they be? What of spells and skills should they revolve around? If you experience with these countries' war histories, traditions, politics or occult beliefs, that would be helpful. Any interesting gimmicks? Vague ideas I've had, the British style is 'naval' (water spells and sea warfare), the French is the 'slash and burn, business is good' style (based on medieval and Renaissance France being a brutal conqueror and mercenary hive)... |
