Default Rule question (Knee pads of allure and Bard "help")

Ok, this has came up twice. Once with knee pads of allure and once with the Bard ability. Here is the scenario.

Player A. Draws monster. Uses bard ability. Wins roll. Forces player B to help in combat.
Player B. Plays +5 monster on the monster player A and B are now fighting.
Chaos ensues.

Player A argues that the wording "Must help" means that player B (the player forced to help) can't use cards to help the monster.

Who is right?

Thanks for the help! This will hopefully end a recurring nightmare in my gaming group. Ive had a player quit the game twice due to this conflict.
I argue that player B can do whatever he wants with his cards, but the majority of the people playing disagree.

Default Re: Rule question (Knee pads of allure and Bard "help")

Player B can do whatever he wants with his cards. He has to "help" in the game terms, meaning his combat strength is combined with the main combatant, but he doesn't have to be willing, and he doesn't have to try to win if they start to lose the combat.

Edit: Found the FAQ entry to support this. Taken directly from the FAQ (http://www.worldofmunchkin.com/faq/)

Q. If someone makes me help him with the Kneepads of Allure, can I backstab him, play cards against him, etc., so we both have to Run Away?
A. You bet. You're required to join the combat, not to try to win.
