I know the contest to hear an invisible opponenet is Hearing-2 vs Stealth but what about range? Hearing someone moving next to you is very different than hearing them at 20 yards. Where are the hearing modifiers for range?

p B358 with the other rules for Sense rolls.
Not according to the RAW. It's +1/-1 for each step closer/farther on the Hearing Distance Table. |

While not RAW...
In a quick pinch - which is most of the time when I'm GMing - I use a modifier for the noise level of +0 at 60 db, with +/-1 per +/-10 db (e.g., +1 at 70 db, or -2 at 40 db), then apply one half the normal Range/Speed Table penalties. The results are, in my opinion, close enough to the official rules to not unbalance the game any, and run smoothly under the same table master Range/Speed Table as everything else. But if you want official, as previously mentioned, p.B358 |

Though using the range/speed chart probably produces better results than the hearing distance table.

There are also more detailed hearing penalties in gurps mysteries. Idhmbwm at the moment , but I'll try to post the pg reference tomorrow.
[EDIT]GURPS Mysteries, pp. 46 and 47 have more detailed hearing penalties: Quote:
