Face Down Cards

Hi, I'm brand new to Munchkin and I currently have the Zombie version. I'm currently trying to teach myself how to play and I'm a little confused and what it means by drawing cards face down. What exactly does that mean?

Drawing a card Face Down is done in such a way that the person who is drawing the card is the only one who can see it.

Drawing a card Face Up is done so that all players can see the card.
