Drawing treasures after combat...

When a monster is killed and treasures are being drawn, are they always drawn face up or how does that work? I ask because of the cleric card. We always just draw face down even when treasures are offered for help, have we been doing it wrong?

After combat, treasure is drawn face up if there was a helper, face down if there was no helper
