Default Restraining Order Against ...And Its Little Friends

I had a question about Restraining Order played against ...And Its Little Friends card. So say ...And Its Little Friends card is played and other players throw in a bunch of other monsters, if the person in combat plays a Restraining Order against the person who played that card does that create a chain reaction where all other monsters must also be pulled from combat and go back to their owner?

In our group it might matter how long the player pondered the use of the restraining order before playing it.

If the Restraining Order cleanly applies to AILF, and no further cards, apart from monsters, arriving to the combat as 'friends' to the 'base' monster, had been played yet, then I -would- expect it to rewind all of those monsters.

If the gang of friends had formed, and then someone played a card other than a monster, I would expect it to be too late to Restrain the AILF card as there is now a newer target for the Restraining Order.

These are Not official answers.

Since only Andrew, Munchkin Man, or Steve himself really are authorized to give "official answers," I think it's already pretty clear that there hasn't been one yet in this thread.

As for your question, at my house I would say yes. Restraining Order would force the player who used the ... And Its Little Friends card to return that card to their hand. Then, as if it were a Wandering Monster card, all the monsters that were allowed onto the field by that ... And Its Little Friends card would then have to return to their respective player's hands.

Keep in mind that Restraining Order doesn't target the newest card played against a the person using the card. What Restraining Order does is prevent a single player from playing ANY cards against another player for an entire combat. It doesn't matter how long they ponder anything because the player who played ... And Its Little Friends would have to take back ALL the cards they played on the combat, regardless the order the cards were played in.

In fact, I believe this is a brilliant defensive strategy.

Here is an old ruling from Andrew which seems to indicate that the person who play ...And It's Little Friends would get the card back, but the monsters would stay in play.

Also here's an older thread where this exact interaction was discussed

Restraining Order is a preventative measure not a retroactive countermeasure (except against Monster Enhancers that is). Rule of thumb, if you have Restraining Order play it when you think someone is going to mess with you. Not after he already messed with you.
