Edmund Price dreamed of machines that night. Planes that could hover, tanks that could walk or roll, and men in giant robots. The blasted landscape was dotted with massive towers that seemed to buzz with strange energy.
Strange men walked the halls of these towers, thin and pale, working busily on computers. Stocky, gray skinned farmers drove the tractors, while tiny short men worked on massive complexes of machinery. Every aspect of the world had been changed: normal looking people weren't seen, plants only grew in exact circles around the towers, and the rest was a strangely empty wasteland. Dr Price woke up naked in a long barracks. The place was mostly empty, lined with beds and dressers. The beds were quite small, only 4 feet long. No one was in the room, but it did not look familiar, and after a short time, Dr Price realized that the ceiling was only five feet tall.

The hell just happened? Edmund lies stunned for a few seconds.
He twists his head left and right trying to make sense of his surroundings. As he is close to 6 feet tall he'll have to walk around rather crooked. He'll make his way to the nearest dresser. If he doesnt find the clothing of suitable size (quite likely considering the circumstances) he'll try to cover himself with bedsheet toga style (or tie it around the waist if too short for that) |

The clothing is indeed too small for Edmund, though he is able to pull off a toga from a bed sheet. There are two doors in the room, one at each end of the room.

Edmund mentally flips a coin and chooses one of the doors. He peeks through it.

The corridor is small, just like the room, but Dr. Price can hear the throbbing hum of machinery. the walls are covered with various tools, some obviously electrical, others solid piece items. The hall has a T section a ways down. You can't hear any people moving beyond it because of the machines.

The other door opens into a larger hall, this one slightly circular, with small doors on the outside of the arc, and large doors on the inside. The floor here is carpeted, and the walls painted. As opposed to the concrete on the other end of the barracks.

Edmund takes a walks down the curved corridor trying to look as confident as possible in his situation. (Not at all like a burglar or a madman).
He tries to remember his dreams. People in those did really seem to love round architecture. He wonders if he is in the base of one of those crazy towers. He tries to keep his eyes open for anything written or painted that could give him more information about the place. Like a book or poster or computer terminal. If he doesn't come across anything/anyone of interest he chooses a large door and gently knocks on it. Last edited by fifiste; 03-07-2013 at 12:47 PM. |

The doors on the outside of the torus are marked with numbers: there are 32 of them, all small and numbered with both letters and numbers, but only the letters A through F are used. There seems to be some sort of order: 02 is followed by 03 and 1E by 1F.
The inside doors have labels in English: restroom, laundry, HDL, and a set of symbols that seem to mark an elevator.

The letters HDL are too much of a mystery to his curious nature.
He just has to peek inside :D What does he find. |
