Greetings, all!
Recently started wondering about a bit that seemed glossed over: Some minions (whether capital-M, bought as Allies, or not, bought for cash) count as Dead Broke Valuable Property. And yet they do perhaps 30-45 hours of useful work per week for their master (otherwise why would one buy them?!). Now the question rises, what happens to all the work done by them? As Dead Broke, of course they don't get any cash for it. Instead, the benefits of their work go to their master. But here's a dilemma: On one hand, it seems kinda munchkin to arbitrarily assign them a job level and just redirect the income of said job entry to the master. On the other, just abstracting their work into the master's wealth level doesn't seem fair either: minions can be a serious investment of points (e.g. 18, for an always-available 75%PT minion) or cash (e.g. $100,000-175,000ish for many bioroid models). Having them provide no benefit whatsoever outside adventures seems wrong, particularly for non-adventure-oriented minions. Oh, and yes, I realise that a job need not give benefits in the form of cash, but could provide goods, services or reductions of expenses instead. The question is still how much of a monetary equivalent of a benefit they should provide. Thanks in advance! |
