That's kind of cool, but I'd rather have Chainmail as part of it. Not having it makes parts of the three core books useless.

Wow, $149 for the original D&D with a nice box. Not enough memories to justify it for me, unfortunately. Heck of a find for someone more committed, though.

Well, I still *have* my original white box set.
And lack of Chainmail never slowed us down in the slightest. We just sort of routed around the bits that didn't make any sense.

Some thoughts :
You ever wonder if the steep price tag is a thumb of the nose at the 1st ed 'purists' that still exist out there? Using the money to build a statue to Gygax is kinda.....weird. And a little creepy. How ever if that statue could be searched for secret doors, that creepy would morph into awesome. For 150$ they could throw in some graph paper, dice and a compilation of g1-g3. I would like to have that picture of the Fighter in the Magic users arms terrified of the Rust monster and a few other cartoons from the DMG. Also the 'Paladin in Hell' graphic gets remembered alot, but 'No Honor Among Theives' was pretty cool too. I must agree that its neat, but not really 150$ worth of neat. Maybe the addition of MM2, Fiend Folio, and Dieties and Demigods for $200 might be a bit more of a lure. Nymdok |
