Default RFC: The Bifrost Project

Some of you on the s.g.traveller newsgroup may have already heard of my Bifrost project ( http://www.hwcn.org/~ag775/Bifrost/Station.htm ). Those who have already given me feedback about it, thank you very much. Those who haven't yet, please check it out and let me know what you think. I worked on this for most of July, and I'm still tweaking it as ideas occur to me. Any help or observations you could send me would be extremely welcome.

Great work, thanks for sharing.

I've noticed a few places in the Spinward Marches that would benefit from a deep space/empty hex refueling station to link them up to the Spinward Main, you've given me the way to do it.

Just remember to do a before and after comparison of the BTNs in the area like I did (see http://www.hwcn.org/~ag775/Bifrost/Tables.htm ) to see if it makes economic sense, and be sure to include worlds that will be indirectly affected. A least one trade route should be raised to a higher classification (i.e. a frontier route raised to a minor one, a minor to a feeder, a feeder to a main) to justify the expense of building the station. Raising a BTN by 0.5 can raise the trade between those worlds by two to five times, while raising a whole 1.0 multiplies trade by a factor of 10.

The Sword Worlds was special case; when Excalibur seceded from the SWC, the checkpoint laws caused BTNs between its coreward and rimward worlds to drop by 0.5 across the board. Just avoiding this political entanglement would save the SWC billions of credits in trade.
