Default [New Release] GURPS Monster Hunters 1: Champions

Hyper-competency! Ritual magic! Modifiers from buying your heroic Mystery Machines from Crazy Vlad's Used Cars! And, most importantly, a selection of flashlights. GURPS Monster Hunters 1: Champions gives you everything you want while remembering that you may be a monster hunter on a budget.

And judging by the first day of sales, people were really chomping at the bit for this one! Thanks to everyone who snapped this up already, and to those of you who'll be grabbing it in the future -- it's nice to see the weeks and weeks of hard work we all put into this series being justified.

There was no bad publicity ;) :)
I hope the rest of the series does as well!

And straight to #9 in the year-to-date sales.

On a tangent- why is LTC3 selling double LTC1 and LTC2? And with the word "Economics" in the title? Is it a reference for some university History of Economics course?

Edit: Nevermind, it's the year-beginning cutoff which did it. LTC3 must've come out in January or late December, overall sales put 1 and 2 ahead of 3.

Bought it. I also bought Divine Favore and Pyramid 29.

That's 24 bucks, 26 to go to get playtest privleges!

Well, I dropped $20 on Urban Magic and Gun Fu. Monster Hunter is this weeks purchase. And maybe Action 1. Ya, shouldn't be long for me either.

Action 1 is great, but Action 2 is a must have, even if you never use the Action templates. The rules simplifications are awesome.

I couldn't agree more. As I mentioned in another thread, there were some rules from Action 2 that I simply stole wholesale for MH2, because I knew I couldn't possibly do them better. And a few that I warped and mangled to fit the monster-hunting genre, of course; e.g., distilling 4.5 pages of details chase rules into 0.5 pages of foot-chase (only) rules. At any rate, Action 2 is really useful for any cinematic game, IMO, and a literal must-have for a modern-day one.

(BTW, MH1 has broken 200 copies and is now at #5 for the year to date. Even more meaningful, it's currently holding at a perfect 5.00 with 15 ratings. I'm sure that'll change as more people pop on to rate it, but I'm still really glad that this was so well accepted.)

I went to Dittos and had G: MH1 printed up, put into covers, and given a binding. So I've got a new GURPS Book!

Where did you get it done? I've been debating going to Fedex Office (Kinkos) and using their online service. I want a bound copy of this baddy for my May demo game.
