We played the 7th session of Mecha Against the Giants last night. Many giants were shot, and thanks to lack of attention by the LT, a couple of the mecha were too.

I throw out some suggestions for adding more weapon skills to the Dungeon Fantasy template wildcards. Basically, I'm moving more and more to the idea that the template wildcards should cover just about every primary and secondary skill, and in general should cover combat skills.

Another session of the Mecha Against the Giants game. This was the first part of the ultra-tech dungeon crawl. It was a lot of fun, and included some huge explosions as the pilots discovered that guns and methane don't mix very well.

I had some time this morning, so I went back to my Rationalizing Damage Spells article and built ball forms for all elements as powers in GCA. As a result, I decided I needed to tweek a few elemental effects to make the spells roughly balanced.

A long delayed update!

First, continuing session write-ups for Mecha Against the Giants, detailing some ultra-tech dungeon delving:

Extensive session notes from the first session of Castle of Horrors:

In summary, it wasn't a horror game, but the PCs were well and truly spooked out. And everyone had a lot of fun.

More Castle of Horrors! The PCs run some gargoyles, meet some odd gnomes, and prepare to assault the monster in the chapel!

In the second session of Castle of Horrors, two characters had their weapons stolen by gargoyles. The gargoyles grabbed the weapons, and the PCs didn't resist. I go through mechanically what would have happened if the PCs tried to resist, using the more or less standard Technical Grappling rules. Long story short, the PCs probably made the right decision.

A discussion on using "Possessions Under Control" from Pyramid v3 #83 with GURPS Magic, and some example combats using a variety of house rules.

Session 3 of Castle of Horrors starts with a highly successful ambush in a ruined chapel, and ends with a second ambush in the same chapel going horribly wrong:
