Here you go:

Horten Ho 229A Flying Wing Fighter/Bomber

This is the single-seated version planned by the Germans. Test flights with the prototype proved the plane to have excellent manoeuvrability and a top speed of Mach 0.92. The contract was given to Gotha, so the name should really be "Gotha Go 229A".
HP: 87
HT: 9xf (Assuming this is a full production model, otherwise, for a prototype; lower HT to 7 or 6.)
DR: 5 (Body all facings)
Cockpit DR: N/A
Hnd/SR: +3/2
Speed/aAccel: 607mph/4
SM: +6
Crew: 1
Weapons: 4x MK 108 Cannons (wings, actually body), and ordnance up to 2.200lbs (possibly 24 R4M Rockets)

To spice things up; you could add a radar to it and a Radar Jamming rating of -3 for its stealthy design, this aircraft really was the first basic stealth design. Apparently a mix of sawdust, charcoal and glue mix would be sandwiched between plywood sheets (which made up the skin for the early versions) and the charcoal would diffuse radar beams, making the aircraft harder to spot on radar. How this stealth was accomplished on a version with metal skin I can only guess (however the shape alone made the aircraft hard to detect).

HT: 8fx
DR: 5 (Body all facings)
Cockpit DR: N/A
Hnd/SR: +1/2
Speed/aAccel: 495mph/3
SM: +9
Crew: 7 (Pilot, Co pilot, Flight Engineer, Radio Operator, Bombardier, Navigator and Gunner)
Weapons: 4x Browning M2 (tail barbette) and up to 32.000lbs of ordnance

You should add something that considers "Speed is life." The faster plane has more options than the slower one.

It's all about energy, the plane at the higher altitude has an advantage over the lower.

Yes you are absolutely right about that, as the rules are right now you get a bonus for having an aircraft with higher aAccel than the enemy. But I'm going to update the rules soon, adding stunts and possibly rules for altitudes.

I don't think this would actually figure into the dogfight itself, though. A higher speed means you can disengage at your option, but isn't really as important while actually dogfighting as acceleration is.

Many combat maneuvers are designed to conserve speed while remaining behind your foe. It takes far longer to bring your plane back up to speed than to keep the speed in the first place. Engagements don't last long enough to decelerate and re-accelerate. If you lose your airspeed, it's over (for you, that is). At least that was my experience with Air Combat USA.

I have used a home-brew based on the Space Opera Combat System (GURPS: Lensman) modified for in-atmo aicraft. I have developed it as 'GURPS: Air Aces', unpublished so far. Interested?

I am unfamiliar with posting a file I have written onto the internet. As a .pdf where can I send it to be read?

If I PM you can I e-mail it direct?

GURPS: Air Aces sent as .pdf attatchment. What do you think? Is the grain too coarse? One, three or more areas for each target?
