Re: Using Hot Wheels
Well good luck. I started by getting dozen battle machines and some figures from Dark Future. I just need to either build an arena or some roads for outdoor autodueling. Keep going with your ideas, loved to see what you make.

Re: Using Hot Wheels
good stuff
do the dark future figures match the hotwheels scale then? goodo seem to be hard to win on ebay and go for a lot of cash for the most part but if thats the figures to buy (and I cant see many other alternatives, maybe Steve Johanson car warriors?) then I'll need to chase them |

Re: Using Hot Wheels
Yes, I like them the best. I'm looking into Johanson next. He has weapons and a good assortment of figures to use that are available!

Re: Using Hot Wheels
Well, still hoping to get started with all this sometime, renovating my apartment has kind of taken over though, sheesh:.(
Still, I'm putting bits and pieces aside, taking notes etc. etc |

Re: Using Hot Wheels
Doesn't Car Wars 5e use the larger Hot Wheels scale?

Re: Using Hot Wheels
well, I was literally just about to step out the door to go and buy some plasticard from Wonderland models in town when, the bloomin' storm hit and my kitchen window just got ripped out, big chunks of wood everywhere.
EEK, now I gotta put all the cool stuff to one side, the Insurance inspectors will, HOPEFULLY, get here as promised and HOPEFULLY will admit that they can replace the window still got a £150 excess to find though, erk fabby day NOT |

Re: Using Hot Wheels
It does, but you have to tweak things for Div5. The bases are supposed to be 2"x1" for Div5 and 3"x1.5" for the bigger cars, but I found that Hot Wheels wouldn't fit on the smaller base sizes. Instead, I just used the standard 3"x1.5" base size for Div5 and decided not to play with any bigger cars.
If I ever do, I'll just go with a standard 3"x1.5" base size for everything. I'm too worried about game balance at this point. The rules make it harder for smaller cars to be hit by gunfire. That's enough of a balance for me. |

There are still up for grabs some gangsta cars/figures and also the mini figures as sets. |

Re: Using Hot Wheels
For a size comparison, check this blog post. And here's a shot of Caesar Miniature's Modern Militia alongside a Matchbox car. The figure on the front left is supposed to be a child soldier - he's smaller on purpose.
Somebody did a detailed analysis of various scales for Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars with 20mm and 1/72 figures. I just saw it last week, but damned if I can find it again. Anybody know what I'm talking about? |
