What is the blade in this video.
link to FB video
It's tip heavy and curved concave around the blade Is it curved enough to be a kukri?

Looks like a machete blade with holes in it. https://www.google.com/search?q=mach...8X4QWcc8O_sc4M

look a bit like a Kilij, but I don't think they had edge on the inside curve...
An oversized Kukri is probably the closest. |

Re: What is the blade in this video.
If you liked, you could call it a kopis -- shortsword rather than knife length. But current machete vendors seem to prefer "kukri" for that shape. Names are just cultural, and gurkhas have better recent marketing than Greeks.

I actually suspect that I've seen that exact blade in the A.G. Russell printed paper knife catalog (which I window shop through when one comes in the mail). I can't keep those sorts of catalogs around long (at least without becoming a horder) and my web searches have not been productive for this exact blade. For one thing Russell didn't make it themselves. At any rate it was described as a kukri of a style more common a century or more ago with a longer blade with a more gradual curve than the shorter and more sharply angled (rather than curved) kukris you're likely to see msot often today.

Re: What is the blade in this video.
My first impression was that it was that type of sword that the ancient Egyptians used (Khopesh), but it wasn't "sickle-bladed" enough. So my next guess was kukri (mostly because of Dresden Files, where a lot of White Court vampires use them).

How about a machiara? Allegedly an ancestor of the kukhri based on Alexandrian invasion of that sort of area back in the day.
