They don't let him get close enough to the portals to close or open them... in fact they seem to think he's something of a flight risk... but they happily follow his directions to find all of the portals, and leave a truck of soldiers there, before driving off to the next one.



The soldiers are amazed at his ability to find the portals.

Did you specify a skill? Peter seems to be getting by without it...

Yes. So far he's gotten by via taking time and making multiple attempts.

Peter is working from default in this situation... This is another Ritual Magic. I'm setting the difficulty at average, not hard, because the real limitation is the "gift" rather than the skill. Time taken can increase effective skill, and the same skill works for both language and portals.

It takes a few tries, but Peter closes the portal. A few more tries, and he opens it. He steps through, and spends a lot more incense closing the portal, before changing into american clothes, and walking to the road.

Would that cover the healing as well? Healing, Portal manipulation, Language swapping... were there any others?

Would the littlest-godling-minor-act-of-creation be a different skill?

Yeah, Broken World or "Broken Clockwork World".

Those are the three we've worked with so far. Looking over the source material (this is not an original world), there is also... communicating via dreams between the two worlds (only the recipient is asleep)... but you don't have any records on how that one works, Thuroma doesn't have that secret.

Yes, that's a different skill. At this point, I think its just something he can do when he has enough ER.

Peter spends the evening attending to his studies.

He requests access to a computer with internet access. He promises to behave and not do anything that's a security risk.

The result is a "snapshot" of the internet. No ability to post, and no social media... but a fair amount of browsing capability.

Peter is fine with that, but he would like to be able to save files to a secure cloud location or the equivalent where if he is taken to another government facility he can access his stuff.

Besides keeping track of his school work if he bounces around, he can start writing the clockwork world incarnation of his book.


((With the way Peter has been thinking about improving the situations on these worlds, and the logistics of his negotiations, I am starting to think Peter should put a point into Administration... what do you think?))

Administration feels pretty natural for him to buy at this point.

They think he'll just be able to move a flash drive to move stuff around... he's going to be here for a while, right? Rolling administration for you...13. They think the local net here will suffice.

Peter sleeps uneasily, unable to focus his dreams. He wakes up back in Missouri, on a military base full of civilians being "debriefed"

OCC: I haven't tracked days since Peter left that world, and I really need to. Peter tends to play out every single day of his life, at least since the Karana world.
EDIT: I counted This is the fifth day since peter left the "biowonder world". Its been almost that many months... he's gotten a fair amount done.

( I was thinking of administration for how he is learning about how these cities and organizations work and planning improvements for the Thuroman deals rather than the current context...)

Peter continues to conduct himself as though they will straighten this out and let him walk through a portal if he wishes (any minute now) and explains he is looking to access these files when he shows up on the other side of the country through another portal. He explains a memory stick is no good.

He is starting to get impatient again and asks after the discussion of his diplomatic status... Is anything happening, or does he feel they are just giving him the runaround?
