(IC) Lost In Dreams [Peter]

Dr. Goslin: "I'm willing to suffer to ensure others don't get hurt, and that justice is had. You'll see that a simple deal won't change who they are."

"What would be your advice then? I'd really like you to keep advising the forming council... being cautious and having a different opinion can come in real handy in spotting stuff others might overlook."

Mr. Patterson: "we'll see. At the very least, you're getting us moved, and giving us time to figure out who these people are, and getting the people who know them best back home. Its progress. Other folks will find flaws, but its progress, and we'll figure out something from here.

"I'm open to suggestions... I'm doing the best I can."

Overall, Peter is pleased. It seems things are working out according to plan as well as could be expected so far. He's ready to prepare for his next trip to visit the divine realm.

"I just expressed a willingness to suffer to aid others... I will sit on the council, should you get it together. Some acts are better than others. I just hope they listen occasionally."

Overall, Peter is pleased. It seems things are working out according to plan as well as could be expected so far. He's ready to prepare for his next trip to visit the divine realm.

Pirfan spends a lot of time making sure that Peter remembers questions. The biggest questions are:

What is Arn-Oda's status?
Where is Ink-Thur?


That night, Peter dreams of the divine village. He dreams of An-Kona talking with a group of other armed gods, discussing something about "secrecy" and "draco", and "the hunters".



Peter wakes up in the back of the tent, with the gods he dreamed of talking about the table. He is, of course, naked, and Goliath is with him. The Gods don't seem to have noticed him yet.

Peter pretends he is still asleep for a few moments to "overhear" a bit more of the discussion before yawning and announcing his presence.

"Good morning! I'd get up, but y'know I travel really light!"

Peter looks around for something to cover himself.

"And what if they don't come back from Draco? What do we do then?"
"You doubt them? Once we have Draco on their own turf the Hunters should be able to utterly overwhelm them."
"Yes! I doubt. The hunters were chosen for their power in the divine realm, not for their competence. We've seen that be an issue here, its got to be a issue especially for the hunters. We're essentially mortals now. That changes things."

Peter looks around for something to cover himself.

Everyone goes quite, and looks at Peter. The fabric of the tent is convenient to wrap himself in, at least a little. Or he could crouch behind a nearby box.

Peter grabs a flap of the tent to cover the important bits, but then stands tall.

"Apologies for the interruption, but the 'emissary' of your mortal followers has arrived, and I really can't control where and when I show up exactly... sorry for that! I guess I'm kind of earth's emissary too... and yours obviously... Is Tar-Billik's house far? I should have some clothes there... I could just run..."

Peter looks at them quizzically and tries to follow the mood if he should wait to be told or just hustle out of there... He certainly doesn't draw attention to what he may have heard.

Someone mutters : "Yeah, get out of here."



Peter goes out into the night, towards Tar-Billik.


An-Kona runs towards him in the night. "Human! what did you hear?! Wait!"


An-Kona: "Look, that meeting was in confidence. Swear you won't repeat anything you heard."


An-Kona: "Also, am I your anchor? should I keep a stash of clothes near me in the future?"

If Peter does not see something convenient to cover himself with, he will just walk out. He is starting to become more used to people seeing him naked and is starting to care less and less.

What is her demeanor? Is her pleading vs demanding or threatening? Does Peter's empathic sense aid him? The tone of his reply will mirror the tone of her approach.

I don't think you are my anchor, not directly anyway, but something about the situation is, so you're probably close to the center of it. And Thuroma. I barely understand what is bouncing me around the universe, but it seems to be a power greater than you or I know, and it seems to put me where I can do some good for the people there. Instead of worrying about keeping me quiet about the bit I heard, I think you should help me to help you and tell me the rest.

My name isn't 'Mortal' or 'Human'. My name is Peter." in a low voice and with far less emotion he adds... "But, I'm starting to like 'Emissary' too..."

If we are not staying in conversation-time...

After the initial exchange, Peter will ask about the fate of Arn-Oda and Ink Thur's situation.

He conveys that if they want him to carry messages to their followers, they should probably choose one of their own to organize and prioritize the messages like the Thuromans are doing.

At some point, he will ask to examine the energy transfer orbs and see if he can move energy to dump some of his energy reserve into it to see if it has any effect. Might be nice if he can effectively print money here, lol

He remains naked for now.

is a very strong request: a little plead, and a little demand. She also is looking to smooth things other with him, but is too proud to plead.

An-Kona: "Telling you isn't my decision to make. It takes the full council, and we're not even telling most of the gods. We were talking about the gods who went off to fix the problems we're having. You know, like Ink-Thur."

"<sigh> I'll try to remember. I didn't think I'd be seeing you every three days."

After the initial exchange, Peter will ask about the fate of Arn-Oda and Ink Thur's situation.

An-Kona: "Arn-Oda is dead. You picked up his corpse the first time we met, remember? Ink-Thur is off trying to make sure it won't happen again. What to tell the priests on the world? I'll have to think about it. Just saying 'Arn-Kona is dead' is probably a bad idea."

He conveys that if they want him to carry messages to their followers, they should probably choose one of their own to organize and prioritize the messages like the Thuromans are doing.

An-Kona: True enough... though you can't reach everyone right now, yes? just some very specific places. Everyone with a wide reach is off on the expedition. Who would be the right person to organize it... I suppose I can. Tell me everyone whose people you can reach."

An-Kona: "My orb is personal. Don't try anything with it. Good luck getting anyone else to let you touch their's either."

Peter fills her in on the neighboring cities he has heard of and the most vocal followers he has received feedback from, so they can better plan the information for him to convey.

"I know he was dead, but if you guys are gods, I wasn't sure of the rules and if he would stay that way. So I thought I'd ask."

Peter tells An-Kona that he will not pass on information to their followers that they want to keep under wraps unless it presents a clear threat to them making his conscience demand otherwise.

He wants to know if this is going to be a regular thing, should he build himself a shelter, rather than keep imposing on Tar-Billik, and if he can make or acquire an energy orb for when he is here.

An-Kona: "That's a fair doubt, I suppose. And I suppose it is still possible we may recover him. Tell them that Arn-Oda was rendered dormant by an old but mysterious foe, and that the unavailable Gods are off seeking to avenge him. I appreciate your discretion"


An-Kona: "We have lost the ability to create more of those orbs. You may build or buy whatever sort of shelter you want: it doesn't matter. For money... I suppose you could keep a tally of who owes you how much, or barter for what you need. The orbs and energy make a natural currency for us, but it is not especially accessible to you. Tar-Billik would also happily continue to help you, especially given the work you are doing."


An-Kona nods and takes some time to memorize the list of gods who are "closely available".
