Default ...and its clone question

So is playing the Star Munchkin "...and its clone" card effectively the same as playing Wandering Monster plus a monster card?

So let's say that my combat strength is 10. I open the door and find an Awful Green Thing. My opponent plays "...and its clone". Am I now basically facing one monster who is at 16, which means I lose, or am I facing two monsters of 8 each, both of which I defeat?

I am assuming it's the former, but we weren't sure, because the Wandering Monster card explicitly says that you combine the strengths, but the "...and its clone" card doesn't say that.

Thanks -

It's just like Mate from original Munchkin. You don't add a second, different card to the combat, just duplicate the one that's already there. (If you're already fighting multiple cards, pick up to Clone.)

Remember, though, that you have to be able to beat ALL the monsters in the fight, collectively, in order to claim any rewards. You don't fight one Level 8 monster and also another Level 8 monster and declare that your might of 10 beats them both, because their might is 16 and they are whipping your butt at the moment.

Thanks Andrew. I knew it was a duplication; the question was whether or not the strengths were combined into one. Which you answered. Thanks again!
