My 1:20 scale backyard MK V
So with the release of the Designers edition I got enthusiastic and decide that I need an Ogre of my own. Obviously a full size one is problematic so I decided to build a 1:20 (approximately) scale sculptural representation of one.
I call it a sculpture because I didn't want to nitpick myself to death with details, I'd have given up. But I did include some cool features. I put solar lights under the main batteries and the tower ball so it just sits out there and glows at night. I can replace the tower ball with a 'tiki' torch if I want. It's on wheels so I can pull it around, it can hold an ice chest, 2 in fact. It's made from from foam core and fiberglass, so it'll float. I hope you like it, I like walking outside and seeing it keeping a cyber eye on things. It's the geekiest thing I've ever built and that's saying a lot. I'm sorry, but that's unacceptably awesome. You're making the rest of us look bad by comparison.

Awesome fails to do justice to the awesomeness of your effort.

At some point, the word "miniature" begins to lose its meaning.... :)

My mind boggles. This is wonderful.
As soon as I get over this brain-and-energy-sapping cold, I'll do a Daily Illuminator to point to this. |

Re: My 1:20 scale backyard MK V
Thanks everyone, I'm glad you like it. Thanks especially to you Steve. I bought the first edition Ogre at Arthur's toys in Fresno long ago and thanks in part to the game I spent many years as a U.S. Army tanker. I've played that edition in West Berlin, when it was West Berlin, in barracks and even during down time on an M60A3 tank.
The Designers Edition was a must buy and one day I'll play my grandson and pass it on to him. Also thanks in part to that original game my son is perhaps the biggest board gamer in this area. He was many SJ games, especially Munchkin. Mark |

Looking at photo 4 it looks like you could put a cooler into the Ogre.
