I agree. Well, obviously. But the book gets very attractively priced for a small, high-production-value indie book at 240 pages ...

Plus, many backers on THIS means I can perhaps look at other large projects with a positive outlook. If the best I can ever hope for is 500 folks or so, that definitely puts an upper limit on what I can accomplish.

FUNDED!

OK...what a big day was yesterday.

Over $3,000 raised in a single day, making it the second-largest day of the campaign. Even bigger than the second day, which is traditionally carried over from launch day.

So now it's about stretch goals. There are still 400 people who have followed but not yet backed this campaign. There are thousands who just became aware of it thanks to this update on the Girl Genius RPG page, courtesy of SJGames.

So don't be too shocked if folks pile on, and for those of you saying nice things in various places and encouraging folks to jump on: keep it up, it's working.

There are eight stretch goals ahead of us. Seven of which each require "only" $4,000 and add 16 pages each to the book. By the end, we'll have probably doubled the monster count if we hit all the goals.

Probability says that's unlikely...but the more folks that find out about the project, the more likely it becomes. We've now hit the point where even BiggerCake can't keep up with mid-campaign jumps the size we made, and it's predicting we hit two more goals.

It all matters.

Right now, we need another 28,000 to unlock all the content stretch goals. That is roughly 395 additional backers at the average pledge of about $71.

There are 398 people who are following but have not yet backed.

If we threaten to unlock that $62,000 goal, there's an off chance that the TFT folks might jump in at the PDF level, since if we unlock the $73,000 goal ($11K more than the top content goal) everyone in the project who pledged at least $15 gets the TFT Bestiary PDF conversion at no additional charge.

Then we'll see if a PDF full of gloriously illustrated monsters is enough to push that over. Obviously that would be a big deal for me personally. Pushing a project to that level of success would turn my 2022 outlook from "I really need a day job" to "I have done better than could be expected in a crap year, so more in 2022!"

In any case, the campaign runs through Tuesday at 9pm Central. There's actually reasonable time between even now and when the 48-hour call goes out to get the word out, link-share, etc.
