I can see using it that way late in a campaign; a way of showing that Centrum is neither as rational nor as English as it likes to present itself, when they over-commit and under-secure on a worldline that views them with distrust and horror - they've blown the Secret, perhaps providing an opportunity for Homeliners...

A strong supporter? Yes. A wise promoter? No. Jackson supported the Union but wounded it deeply.

Kind of like how some support their marriage, yet continue to cheat. Actions have certain likely consequences regardless of what one might prefer.

Roswell-3

Try this idea. In 1947 aliens visit the Earth. Washington D.C. to be exact. They'd been observing us for awhile. Basically they offer Truman some technologies (fusion, robust room temperture superconductors, and a couple of other goodies [no weapons] in exchage for the rights to bases in the Rocky Mountains, Alaska, and Hawaii. The USA shares the tech with its allies. Their is a huge ecconomic boom, which the Democrats get the credit for in the USA. The computor boom comes early because of the extra goodies (the aliens were surprised how quickly that went) and as in Homeline's history, the USSR can't keep up. This parallel achieves Tech Level 8 in about 1969.

It's now 1997 in this Q6 low mana world. Conspiracy theorists hate and fear the aliens. Others accept the statements by the Aliens that if they can bring a promising new species into the galactic comunity and do it well, the Aliens can gain status and humanity can secure a bright future. Some of the aliens, durring the 1960's began to teach some humans about their mystical religious practises. Aliens ideas about ritual and magic began to enter the general New Age soup. The Cabal believes that all that dross may hide gold.

Meanwhile both Homeline and Centruum want to know about these Aliens and steal their tech. Bonus: Psi seems to work on this world and the Aliens and various human groups are working to unlock human psi potential.

Without a USSR (and their missile program) to compete against, and with aliens present, has the USA of Roswell-3 had reason to send anything into space yet? It might be difficult to join the galactic community if they can't get there...

There were US satellite projects underway before Sputnik, they just got a lot more publicity after the USSR jumped ahead, and space was seen as far more urgent. I'd expect this timeline's space program to be less rushed but better designed.

Johndallman is right, we wanted to get into space before the Space Race. With the Aliens visiting, we know that we need to be in space to preserve Earth's independence. Plus their are better opportunities out there when you've got help.

Try this idea. A Worldjumper, who thought he was changing his history brings the Moldboard Plow, the stirrup, the spinning wheel, the push peddle loom, and a few other key tech level 3 inventions to a town in Rural Gaul. He also bring in several key crops from the Islamic agricultural revolution. He assumed (largely because he was a Fritz Leiber fan) that time is very hard to change. After five years of hard work he was killed by a cut-purse whom he caught robbing him. All these event occured in the years 38-43 AD.

This Q6 world is booming in what we call the late Second century and they'd call the early 8th. Germanicus may have been forced out of Germany but with the much larger population of Gaul later emperors took Germania in a walk. Britain is a booming argricultural center and the Tech Level more closely resembles that of 800AD on Homeline with a far better ecconomy.

The Cabal seems to love this world. They seem to be able to find a great deal of important lore. One Cabalist Mage has introduced paper and the printing press. Homeline's informants seem to think he's trying to flush out more of the data the Cabal hunt's for in this world. Because of the vital ecconomy caused by the improved technology and crops, more Ocult lore got written down and preserved on this world, making this the best source of ancient data for many Cabalists. Meanwhile Centrum, who has plenty of Classical Scholars, is vigorusly trying to take over this world. Their motivation seems to be rumors that this world has plenty of Gates to low Quantum worlds. Thus making this world the best way for Centrum to spy on Homeline from, or even launch a bioweapon attack from.

Can Homeline allow either threat?

In 1933, John Hammond is possessed by an angel, disbands congress and declares himself 'a dictator of the people'.

Good pick. Having an angel (maybe fallen, maybe just naive) take over a politician either at the time of the film or a later date could make for scary changes. Sure the angel does a good job, but at what cost to democracy? If the "angel" takes over in a time of crisis, the people might be receptive to this kind of rule.

Once the angel leaves, if it leaves, who runs the nation then?

In our setting both Centrum and the Cabal will be interested in the Angel and Homeline will want to keep them from gaining power over the angels.
